Is New Orleans EMS Hiring?

Yes. NOEMS hires year-round and holds quarterly training academies. 

Does NOEMS hire part-time medics?

No. NOEMS only hires full-time. NOEMS personnel are only eligible to transition to a PRN schedule after completing their first year of full-time service.

What is the full-time schedule?

NOEMS uses a 4 watch system working a 2-2-3 rotation of 12 hour shifts, commonly called the Panama schedule.

Do you hire EMTs?

Yes. NOEMS is currently hiring EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics.

Is there additional pay if I have earned a degree from an accredited college/university?

Yes, for EMTs and AEMTs only. If you have an associate degree, you earn 2.5% of the hourly pay. If you have a bachelor's degree, you earn 5% of the hourly pay. 

Can I work overtime?

Absolutely! At New Orleans EMS, we understand the importance of flexibility and the demand for overtime opportunities. As a full-time employee, you'll have the benefit of 4 hours of built-in overtime each week. Additionally, our city's vibrant special events scene offers numerous chances for additional overtime hours.
