Position New Orleans EMS Average Pay in Louisiana 
EMT  $40,896 base + 4 hours overtime $35,060 
AEMT  $44,612 base + 4 hours overtime $38,658 
Paramedic  $55,102 base + 4 hours overtime $45,887

Annual Special Pay Incentives

  • Specialized units = $1500 per year
  • Higher education pays for EMTs and AEMTs only
    • Associate degree = 2.5% of hourly
    • Bachelor’s degree = 5% of hourly
  • Referral pay: $1000 upon hire and $1000 after one year with NOEMS
